Grieving the death of a loved one is a natural part of healing. Hospice of the Piedmont's Bereavement Services help those who are grieving understand the grief process and provide support that encourages healthy adjustment to feelings of loss. Following the death of a loved one, services are available for the family and friends of hospice patients and to any member of the community at large.
Bereavement services can:
- Provide an opportunity to talk about the death of a loved one
- Help you recognize symptoms common in grief (physical, emotional, spiritual and mental)
- Give an opportunity to be with others who understand what you are going through
- Help with ways to cope with grief symptoms
Bereavement support groups for adults bring together a small group of people to learn about the
grieving process and be with others who are grieving. We offer:
- 8-week support groups
- Men's Breakfast Club
- Young Adult support group
- Remembering Our Children support group
- Drop-in support group
