Chief Clinical Officer (Full Time) – The Chief Clinical Officer is responsible for the clinical operations needed to ensure consistent and high-quality care for all Hospice of the Piedmont patients and families. Must have Master’s degree in Nursing, with seven or more years of professional nursing experience, including five years of supervisory experience. Reviews agency performance and ensures compliance with accreditation, quality assurance, legal, and other regulatory requirements. Demonstrated skills in leadership, administration, education, team-building, staffing, operations, and strategy planning, as well as demonstrated ability to develop and run efficient and effective clinical operations are necessary. Develops agency and clinical goals and objectives in consultation with the Executive Leadership team.

Clinical Services Manager (Full time) – The Clinical Services Manager supervises and  directs the care given by a team of RN case managers, social workers, chaplains, home health aides, and volunteers to hospice patients and their families. Must be a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  5 or more years of relevant hospice clinical experience preferred. Must have knowledge of EMR systems and be able to utilize the system in the daily management and oversight of the interdisciplinary team’s performance.

Clinical Social Workers (Part Time position available at the Hospice House, PRN – field position also available) – Bachelor of Social Work required for part time Hospice House position; Master in Social Work required for full time and PRN field positions; one year experience in a health care setting required. Knowledge of the process of death, dying and bereavement and understanding of psychosocial factors operative in terminally ill patients and families. Knowledge of the principles and practices of social work, hospice philosophy and group dynamics required. Skill in interviewing and communicating. Knowledge of resource/support agencies and methods of accessing services. Proficient in Microsoft Word software and ability to learn EMR system documentation process required.

CNA (Full Time and PRN – Field) – Must be registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, provides personal care services to patients in home and/or facilities that reflects the Hospice philosophy of care. One year’s relevant experience required. Basic proficiency in word processing software helpful.

CNA – Hospice House (Full Time, 7 p.m.-7 a.m.) and (PRN) – Must be registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Under the direction of a nurse, provides personal care services to Hospice House patients. Assists with meal preparation and housekeeping as needed. Hospice experience preferred. Knowledge of skills relevant to grief and loss helpful. Basic proficiency in word processing software helpful.

LPN – Hospice House (Part Time) – Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Two years relevant nursing experience required. Works as a team member at the Hospice House, providing professional nursing services to patients and families utilizing the hospice concept. Basic proficiency in word processing software helpful.

RN Case Manager (Full time)– Responsible for patient care through professional management of cases assigned and coordination of services offered by all health team members to assure quality care consistent with Hospice policies and procedures. Must be a licensed RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia with two years of relevant nursing experience. Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of terminal care, health team service coordination, documentation, and case management is necessary. Must be comfortable working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

RN Evening/Weekend Services (Full time) – Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Minimum of two years of recent, varied work experience as a nurse, Hospice experience preferred. The Evening/Weekend Services Nurse assures the delivery of high quality patient care through timely and responsible management of patient/family needs by responding to telephone calls and making visits as needed to assess patient needs and provide nursing care and emotional support.
